Lunar Passages
Many
times during a month the Moon passes by bright stars and planets, and often we
are treated to nice pairings or groupings of these objects.
As shown in this view set for 2130 CDT on May 19th a thin waxing crescent Moon will be visible just above the bright planet Mars. The location of the open star cluster, M-35, or the Beehive Clustr, is also shown. The Moon is within 2 degrees from M-35, and both should be visible using binoculars. |
